Love this driver. Almost perfect.

I purchased this driver with the intent to resell it for a little profit(Dicks was having a double-your-trade-in deal). I'm a 15-16 handicap and was previously hitting a Titelist 907D2. I hit off the tee with a slight natural draw but mostly straight. However when I miss it's always to the right (slice). I was never a real believer in buying new equipment to help your golf game. Fix the swing not the club right?



Just for kicks I put this in my bag for a few rounds and let's just say it's been in there for 3 months now. This club helps IMMENSELY with off center hits. There are times I know I'm barely grabbing a piece of the ball with the toe or clipping it with the heel. The club still manages to shrug it off and get the ball moving forward. My bad slices have turned more into fades as in they're not in the rough and under the trees but right on the edge of the fairway. I'm not saying this club is a miracle worker. I can still manage to let a nasty shot loose but for those XX% of shots that are just so close to being playable 2nd shots after your drive this club does everything in its power to make sure you have that clear 2nd shot.



The stock shaft is suprisingly not sucky. Aldila Harbenero (sp?).My Tileist was shafted with an Aldila DVS which I liked. This shaft has similar flight characteristics so it suits me. Ball launch is mid-high for me.



Overall distance has greatly improved. The face of this club is what I believe people call "hot". If you manage to hit dead center you can literally feel the ball compressing into the face of the club and in turn the face exploding during the release. Previous avg. driving distance IN THE AIR was around 240 with roll around 260. With the Diable Edge I'm average 250-260yd air with roll 280-290. I've blasted my first 300+ yd drives with this club as well. Feels weird making a 70 yd pitch up to the green on a 380 yd par 4.



Sounds great too. Not obnoxious like a lot of the game improvement clubs out there (FtIq monster XLS Nike Sumos etc.). Why the 4 stars? It DOES have a weird little triangle shape at the back side so it's not a true "pear" shape. Overall it is quite large although It's probably because I'm used to playing a 907D2. Honestly I don't even notice it anymore and the payoff is more then worth it. Although some purists and snobs might dismiss the club entirely just for that fact.More detail ...

Callaway's Hyper X Driver. That's who. This is a great driver at a reasonable price. It may not look or sound as fancy as the Diablo but it still get's the job done. Large forgiving club face with a sturdy shaft makes this a winner. Excellent grip and feel. Lightweight but still beastly. I can get some nice drives with this one. GREAT at the beginning but after a while go with the ft-iq

First off all all I have to say is I was so excited to buy this club. I have been playing for 8 years and have tried every club known to man. At the beginning I was hitting close to 300yds. After about a month the club got harder and harder to keep straight and from slicing. I have NEVER had those problems with the ft-iq. In the end it turned out my club-head was defective. So I sent it back and got a new one. THE SAME THING HAPPENED. So I called Callaway and asked for help they said it was the sellers fault. The next day I went over to my local proshop and asked for some helpful advice. He said that there has been many complaints on the ft-iz getting dents in the head. In the end I switched back to the good trusty ft-iq and i'm so glad. Overall do you want to have a club theat will last you a couple weeks or years?More detail ...

First of all this driver is really wicked looking. For playing golf it's not quite so wicked. I normally don't slice or hook with drivers but with this I can't hit it straight. Great Driver-Great Price

Down at our local golf course driving range they had a "Demo Day" with factory reps from Nike Taylor Made Cleveland Mizuno and Hippo. I was interested in replacing my dated Great Big Bertha II so I tried out all of their drivers. I liked them all but best of all I liked the Hippo Hex 460 and it was $100 to $300 less than the others. I bought the Hippo and immediately played 18 holes. What a difference compared to my old Great Big Bertha. My fair drives turned out good my good drives turned out great and my great drives phenomenal boring perfectly 290 yards though the air on a surreal laser straight trajectory. I'm a 14 handicap who has plenty of power but gets in trouble with wayward shots off the tee. This club with it's square head technology will be a tremendous asset and I'm very excited about it. "Little" Red

The Callaway Diablo 3 wood is exactly what I was looking for to round out my set. First it's an absolutely gorgeous club (black head with deep red shaft makes it look mean). Looks aside it feels great in my hands. The grip is excellent. I'm using the 15 degree loft with regular flex shaft version (left handed). The head has a slightly lower profile than some other woods which enables it to really get under the ball and launch it. Very light weight but it's substantial enough to feel the force of the impact. You gotta get it!!!

This putter is amazing! I usually shot in the low 90's to high 80's before I got this putter. I'm not one to always land near the stick so at times I'm put myself in those situations where I need to make a long put. My mechanics would break down when I put more effort into my swing. This heavier type of putter allows me to maintain my regular swing and let the extra weight do the work. I love putting now! I was nailing anything within 10ft and my long puts became tap in's. I love these clubs!

I took up golf about 2 and a half years ago. At the time I did not know much about what to look for in clubs. I am taller (5'7") so I figured I would get a set of cheap RAM men's clubs to start out. My thinking was that practicing with the same set of clubs will add consistency to my game. And this was partly true. I definitely got some wear and tear out of my RAM clubs.



Since I still love the game I finally decided that I wanted to invest in a nicer set of clubs. I went to a pro shop and got measured. The man who ended up helping me suggested I try women's clubs. So I tried a few different brands and immediately fell in love with Callaway. The slightly shorter club (I figured out that men's clubs are too long for me) plus the technology that Callaway uses made every shot feel effortless. The only problem was the price tag. Most higher end golf club brands sell mostly iron sets. Then you have to invest in drivers and a putter yourself. Callaway irons for women run around $500+ add on to it $200 per driver plus a putter and things start to add up.



So I searched the internet and found Callaway's latest GEM set. I think I can confidently say that for women there is not a better deal on the market. You get a COMPLETE set of Callaway golf clubs for about $600 bucks. And don't think that you're getting less than stellar clubs either. Yes there are only 8 clubs plus a putter. But here's the thing: if they're the right clubs that's all women NEED. With my RAM set I NEVER used my 4 or 5 iron when playing. They don't give a lot of lift (like I would opt for the 6 on a fairway) and I can hit much farther just using my 5 wood off a tee. This set basically strips away all the superfluous clubs and gives women the ones that they will actually play with. I took this set out to play for the first time today and I used every single club. A first in my playing history.



So I highly recommend this set. Obviously if you are a professional you would have different requirements. But if you are like me and you're just a novice-intermediate player who enjoys the game get this set of clubs.



One more side note: my only qualm about buying these clubs was that they only come in that blue color. I'm not a very "frilly" person and I was worried that they might be a little too baby blue looking. But they're not. The clubs are a beautiful darker blue and the case looks like more of a true blue in real life compared to how it's photographed.More detail ...
